I write Byte Journal under the handle Arxchitect. It’s my notebook.
I work on AI evaluation and data work, and on the side I run a small home lab: one always-on Linux server plus a Mac, hosting media, DNS filtering, workflow automation, and a set of scheduled agents that do work while I sleep.
This blog is where I write down what I learn doing that — the parts that worked, the parts that didn’t, and the diagnostic steps that actually located a fault instead of just sounding plausible.
What you’ll find here:
- Build notes from running real automation unattended, including the failure modes
- Infrastructure work on cheap, second-hand hardware, with measured results
- Plain-language notes on AI evaluation work from someone doing it
What you won’t find: ads, sponsored posts, affiliate links, or an email popup. If something here is wrong, I’d rather be corrected than quoted.
