The increase, effective today, also pushes the 256GB model to $699. The move matters because it erases the value proposition that made the phone a standout in its price bracket, and it signals that rising memory costs are now reaching even budget-conscious buyers.

The new prices have already taken effect at Amazon and Best Buy, 9to5Google reports. Google Store listings now show the Pixel 10a at $849 in Canada, £599 in the UK, and €649 in Europe. Android Police notes that the higher price is currently only showing up in the US, but expects it to expand to other markets where the phone is sold. Android Police also points out that the $599 starting price for the 128GB model matches what Samsung charges for the 128GB Galaxy S26 FE.

The price hike follows Google’s decision to raise prices on each of its new Pixel 11 devices compared to the prior generation. When Google confirmed the Pixel 11 would be more expensive, the company said the increase would eventually impact “in-market Pixel phones,” which at the time was speculated to include the Pixel 10a. Google has not officially commented on the Pixel 10a price hike.

The broader context is a surge in component costs, particularly memory. Android Police reports that global DRAM and NAND shortages have driven steep price increases, and every consumer device launched this year has carried a higher MSRP than its predecessor. Samsung this week also issued price hikes across its Galaxy lineup, including flagship and mid-range devices, with the Galaxy S26 family rising by $100 or more in the US, South Korea, and other markets.

In its review of the Pixel 10a, 9to5Google called the device a “well-rounded experience” for its $499 price, but noted that a $100 jump makes that a tougher conversation, especially since the phone uses a two-generation-old Tensor G4 chipset. Android Police similarly argues the higher price weakens the Pixel 10a’s overall value, calculating that buyers are paying 20% more for the same phone.

What remains unproven is whether the price increase will stick or spread further. Android Police warns that Google could raise the Pixel 11 price by another $100 before the end of the year if DRAM and NAND prices keep climbing. Google has not said whether the Pixel 10a increase is permanent or whether other markets will follow the US. For now, the only confirmed change is the US price at Google, Amazon, and Best Buy, with international listings already reflecting higher local prices.
